Somewhere, SOMEHOW, ASADAE got a fan base. Thinking about ASADAE's history, it's original content and most importantly it's actual written form makes me sick to my stomach. What was originally there was an atrocity of mere violence and rape. There was no logic to most of it (read: all of it.) there was no character development. There was basically a hedgehog sticking his dick into various things and eating peoples faces. HOW it developed a fandom is beyond me. Perhaps people found the concept to be attractive. It was quite literally the first of it's kind in the Sonic fandom. People have told me it spawned the "Dark Revolution" that now runs rampid in the Sonic community. This can be taken as a compliment, but most of the time when i do see what people have done to the Sonic characters, I merely weep and blame myself.
So ASADAE has a fandom, one that despite it's nature i have actually gotten very few flames over. Why is that? Who knows. I've gotten a few MSTing, a few e-mails but overall in all these years...i think i can count them on one hand.
For the most part, however, i've had many many imitations/additions to my work done. A good portion of the time they're brought to my attention by the writer/artist.
Other times however...
I think I can understand -why- they wouldn't want them brought to me. These usually include stories that:
1. Have fan characters in them that will instantly be more powerful then the main characters in the story.
2. Have altered the personalities/status of the original characters to suit their needs.
3. Have omitted portions of information/storyline to introduce new elements.
4. Have introduced Shadow/Blaze/Cream/Eggman (WHAT), Silver and other characters never hinted at or intended to be in the storyline.
Now, the internet is a pretty ballin' place. It's a place where people can give and take. They can take all the information in the world for their own use, and they can contribute. And I can only assume people are contributing their versions for people who may find what they've changed to be neato.
Me, however? Not so much really.
Now, i'm not gonna jump down that person's throat for doing it (unless of course it's pushed down MY throat repeatedly or if it's Runnic.) In fact, if it provides me with anything it provides me with great entertainment. Many is the times i recall reading these stories out loud with my husband and we reinact the actions of great battles and dialog aloud. It is entertainment in one way or another.
All n'all, I think i'm a good portion to blame for the severe lack of in character asadae stories. I mean, here i am with all these great ideas and only a few are implemented. You see only a scrap of the characters personalities!

That's not -exactly- true, a part of this was actually released. The rest was not.
Although in ASADAE there is no "Mobius Prime" and there is no alternate realities, the idea of Zonic seeing the moment when Sonic picked up the black emerald and being completely powerless to stop it has always been a powerful image to me. His character, which has unfortunately very poorly embarked upon by Archie has been occasionally poked and prodded by myself and Stealth. (ie: The husband, who will not be referred to as Stealth.)
We've come to the conclusion that for the most part Zonic is a coward who's always looking for Sonic's help to maintain the balance in those worlds. He's not an especially bad person, but he definitely lacks the charismatic personality of Sonic. The idea I had behind this drawing is also partially because of my friend Carrie, who at the time was also discussing Zonic to me.
Just, imagine this.
The rules are simple ones for a Zone Cop, under no circumstances are they to interfere with the timeline of the Prime world. Although Zonic has occasionally poked his head in, he always passed these deliberate acts of rule breaking as necessities. Now as he watches the main monitor he see's Sonic's pain, he sees him unhappy with his relationship and he feels pity, but again, there are no words of comfort or acts of kindness he can give him. There's something with him, and as it whispers to Sonic; so to does it whisper to Zonic. He feels this entity that pulsates and creeps under Sonic's skin, he feels the bargain it wishes to strike with him, and he can feel Sonic's will; already so tired and so used up begin to relent to it.
Sweat pop under Zonic's helmet; he secretly wishes that Sonic would move away, he has an overpowering desire to teleport there, to move Sonic away from it because whatever it is, it's feeding off Sonic's misery, it's giving off a taint, it's growing stronger.
His hand inches closer to his teleportation device, he has to stop this, has to stop whatever that thing is. He is seconds away from pressing it. These seconds cost him, and he watches, releasing an almost pathetic whine as Sonic's trembling hands touch the emerald.
At once he feels a shift in himself, he feels what he can only imagine Sonic is feeling. He covers his mouth to muffle out a cry that he knew millions of others like him were struggling to contain. It is a wail of agony, a cry of brutal relentless change in the Prime world. Zonic opens his eyes and finds that he's kneeling in front of his monitors, everywhere he looks the Sonics of the universes beyond have reacted in one way or another. From something as simple as a shake to the head to clear the ringing in their ears, to being sprawled on the floor weeping.
Slowly, surely, the world descends into madness. The Zonecops watch on in horror as these acts of atrocities begin, they watch as Sonic stretches his powers to the far reaches, manipulating and conquering with no remorse. Worst yet is the knowledge that he knows of them.
He knows of the unlimited worlds they have access to.
A decision is made and the Prime world is locked out. It is a decision made with much regret, for they know that with every passing action on Mobius Prime each other world is affected. They can only hope that by removing access to it, that they will effectively lock away any residue effect from the Dark Ones taint.
They think they are safe.
Zonic knows better.
He can still hear it, whispering to him quietly.
He can still hear his own voice - Sonic's voice - chuckling, beckoning him to relent into the darkness.
He knows that the others like him are hearing these voices. Some are fighting against it; others are slowly succumbing.
He knows that once given in they will sunder their worlds, destroying all that was precious to them.
They will leave nothing.
All Zonic can do is weeps in solitude; his one moment of hesitation has damned them all.
