ASADAE Profile - 001 Sonic (Normal)

Character Profile – oo1*

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG
"Real" Name: Maurice Robotnik
Nicknames: Sonic, Sonny, Sugar-hog, “The Hedgehog", Rodent
Born : June 23, 3219
Family :
Biological Parents: Ana Hedgehog (Mother), Ivo/Julian Robotnik (Father).
Adopted Parents: Bernie Hedgehog (Adopted Mother), Jules Hedgehog (Adopted Father)
Extended Family: Charles Hedgehog (Uncle), Sonya Robotnik (Sister), Damien Prower (Son)¹, Alexander Trader (Nephew)¹, Anne Trader (Niece)¹

Strengths :
Phenomenal Speed
Although it has not been gauged to it’s exact limits; Sonic’s speed is the fastest than any living creature on Mobius. Not limited to his legs; Sonic’s arms and hands can also move at a disturbingly swift speed which allows him to strike at any foe quickly as to do substantial damage before they’re able to block it. His eyes are also gifted with this speed and when focused he is able to keep track of an object moving almost as quickly as he does.

Affinity to certain magical artifacts and energies
Along with the Power Rings his uncle created, Sonic has an attraction to other types of magical objects that conduct excessive amounts of magical energy. His body will adapt to the energy outlets and if possible will absorb them, granting him a temporary boost in physical or mental dexterity. This will not work with all alignments of power, however.

Charismatic personality/Leadership qualities
Sonic’s handsome features and confident voice offer little room for question to his leadership. This is of course, only when he feels the need to be the leader of a situation. More often than not, he would prefer to stand beside Sally and let her make the decisions.

Weaknesses :
Impatient
Despises having to wait for things and will often act before he thinks.

Paranoid
In Sonic’s later years he becomes increasingly paranoid over his status with his friends and with Sally. Which cause him to act brashly and destructively with them. If he feels something is being hidden from him he will become relentless in his discovery for the truth, often stooping to spying on people or manipulating others into getting the information he desires.

Destructive
When Sonic is active and in the middle of combat, he will lay waste to whatever is threatening him and his friends. While not really a weakness, the fact that his destructive nature can be so consuming is off-putting to his friends. Sonic does not acknowledge his vicious nature and merely puts it off as him getting “serious".

Heavily Dependant on Nutrition
To maintain Sonic’s abilities he must draw heavily from his body and in doing so his metabolism burns through his reserves. Sonic must eat almost four times as much food as an average Mobian to allow him the excessive use of his speed. When Sonic is unable to eat but has used his abilities he becomes ill and fatigued until his body is given the nutrition it craves. This is a particularly bad weakness during the winter when food becomes scarce.

Aquaphobia
Sonic cannot swim and has a dislike of deep bodies of water.¹¹

Likes:
Music, Food, Nature, Fishing, His Core Friends, his stylish good looks.
Dislikes:
Robotnik, Technology (Sans Nicole), Geoffrey St. John, Water, liars, smart asses, people sexier than him, work.

Relationships:
Please note that not all characters are listed, just primaries mostly.
Sonic And Sally

Complete opposites in personality; Sonic and Sally clash head long repeatedly. Sonic thinks Sally is too precautious and pig headed. If an outsider were to watch their banter towards one another, they would come to the conclusion that these two simply did not like one another and would wonder how they’ve managed to work together so many times.
This is of course far from the truth. Sonic’s heart aches greatly to get her adoration and respect; this is why he sometimes does the unthinkable and boldly steps into danger without a moment hesitation.

There are occasions when their heckling will go from sibling playfulness to unintentional harm and these are the times when Sonic feels the most vulnerable and miserable emotionally. He despises her attacks on his intelligence and her public refusal to acknowledge him as more than “just friends".

Despite all of this, Sonic loves her with all his heart and admits this to her in private when they spend their time together and their public masks are removed.

Sonic is insanely jealous of her flirty ways with other men and her willingness to believe other people over his own accusations. He is well aware of the fact that she sometimes does this to get him to fight for her attention and takes this as a sign that he needs to prove himself more to her.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
When Sonic returns from finding the black emerald and is fully recovered from its initial overloading affects, he began to see Sally in a much clearer perspective. His mind was constantly flooded with the degrading acts he was forced to do to win her favor and finds himself becoming more and more spiteful.
Determined to no longer act docile in her presence he starts a series of aggression that borderline on abuse. Tearing her down verbally when she attempts to chide him over his actions, roughly manhandling her during their time alone and snidely remarking over nearly everything she says.

Sonic and Tails

Sonic helped raise Tails when he was first found in the forest and gained the self proclaimed title of his big brother. As such Sonic is fiercely dedicated to protecting Tails while at the same time can get him in unbelievable trouble when they both go sneaking out where they don’t belong.
Sonic enjoys the idolizing Tails gives him at first but as his interest begin to peak towards a more intimate nature with Sally, he finds Tails’ constant presence and questions aggravating when he wants to be alone with his girlfriend. Like all big brothers; Sonic eventually starts trying to push him away into his own path of self identity, but instantly regrets when the hero worship ends.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE] ²
Sonic soon realizes that his loss of Tails’ companionship has greatly diminished his happiness and tries to regain his attention. He begins to see Tails attention to anyone else as a threat and is partially responsible for his bullying.

Sonic and Bunnie

Sonic’s friendship with Bunnie is solid and built on mutual respect. He respects her strength and character and she respects his speed and strategic intellect. Often Bunnie will act as the neutral party between Sonic and Sally and will remind both that their arguments and clash of personalities is trivial when compared to the importance of the mission.
Sonic works wonderfully with Bunnie due to their similar appreciation for righteous destruction; combining both of their skills together they are nearly unstoppable.
Bunnie also uses their time alone together to secretly helps Sonic better understand Sally, having enough tolerance to push through Sonic’s dense thought process on the subject.

Sonic secretly finds her very attractive both physically and mentally, but refuses to let this get in the way of his friendship with her.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
Sonic begins to suspect that maybe Bunnies help was influenced by an outside force. He starts spying on her and begins to notice the large amount of time she spends with Sally.
When they spar together, his attitude moves from a friendly match to a more malicious and vulgar one, insinuating that Bunnie may have more than just friendship on her mind with so much time spent with Sally. He will often casually express an interest in her robotic parts, questioning how she can stand to be with them and how he would feel like less of a living being for the sole purpose of upsetting her.

Sonic and Amy

He’s distraught by Amy’s attention towards him and avoids her at all costs. He isn’t mean to her as much as he just keeps finding ways out of having to spend great deals of time with her. He tries to remind her that she’s just a child and a relationship would never be possible; then quickly runs away to avoid her temper tantrum. He was quite relieved when she latched herself onto Metal and began ignoring him.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE] ²
Sonic decides that he misses the fawning he received from Amy and works to sabotage her relationship with Metal. Becoming extremely flirty with her and going so far as to cop a feel on occasions – much to her dislike. He tells her that he understands why she picked Metal; because she couldn’t have the real Sonic, making her second guess herself to the point of breakdown.

Sonic and Charles

Charles is the only person that Sonic has ever had as a parental figure and he strives to prove his worth to Charles whenever he can. Outwardly he may act carefree and content to simply “hang" with his Uncle; internally he wonders if Charles is disappointed that Sonic simply cannot grasp the basics of his uncle’s profession. Charles is the only one who can ever see through Sonic’s emotional masks and can coax him to confess over what’s upsetting him – something Sonic is secretly thankful for and will occasionally sneak into Robotropolis alone for.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
No personality change.

Sonic and Antoine

Despite his antagonistic nature with Antoine; Sonic finds his company welcomed. Sonic’s attitude towards him is almost like brotherly rivalry – only Sonic is clearly the superior in nearly every way. He sees Antoine as a way to further enhance his own superiority and semi-structurally fragile ego by comparison; but he would never admit this to anyone.
Overall, he cares enough for Antoine to rescue him despite any situation he may get himself into – even if five minutes later Antoine will be calling him a “fuel".

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
With his need for ego assurance gone, he just becomes recklessly hostile towards Antoine both mentally and physically. He reminds Antoine that he’s fallen far short of his fathers expectations both as a son and a soldier whenever he can and enjoys the reaction it usually causes in him.

Sonic and Dr. Robotnik

Before Sonic knew he was the prodigal son of his worst enemy, Sonic treated Robotnik’s actions almost like a game. He enjoyed tormenting him from afar and watching his reactions to the destruction of his city.

Sonic refuses flat out to acknowledge Robotnik as his father; to mention this to him is to risk being the focus of his rage on the subject. In discovering his relation to Robotnik, Sonic became more vicious and focused on getting him out of power. He would no longer joke or mock him when confronting him face to face, something Robotnik noticed and reveled in. He knew this information upset Sonic and that was used as a weapon against the hedgehog.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
N/A – Robotnik was already “dead" by then.

Sonic and Snively

When Snively was Robotnik’s lackey, he thought of him as no threat whatsoever. Their relationship didn’t extend beyond Sonic making fun of his hair and Snively screaming profanities at him.
When Snively usurped power from Robotnik and began spreading his own brand of cruelty to the world, Sonic realize that Snively was perhaps a lot more demented than Robotnik ever could be.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
Snively was the final obstacle in Sonic’s way of claiming what was rightfully his. He did not confront Snively until he was ready to destroy him utterly and when they met face to face Sonic had no fear of the small human.
Though he began to realize the taboo allure of Snively’s brand of punishment to infidels, and knew Snively’s knowledge of the secrets of Robotropolis were unparalleled to even Chucks information and would be invaluable; he also knew that Snively was simply too treacherous to be allowed a part in Sonic’s empire.
Sonic knew he had to kill him, and he would enjoy seeing the fear in his cousin’s eyes as he did it.

Sonic and Geoffrey

Sonic despises Geoffrey almost as much as Robotnik. They clash on the simplest of things, constantly and relentlessly. Their egos do not allow for an inch of compromise. Sonic’s maliciousness towards him is evident with every bitter hateful word from his mouth and the feeling is returned.
It isn’t just the fact that Sally is involved with both of them that sparks their negativity towards one another, it’s attitude.
When Sally is acting as a referee between them both, Sonic is sullen and focused on the task at hand, trying not to let it show that his mood is completely spoiled at his presence. He tries to ignore the snide remarks from Geoffrey, hoping Sally will come to his defense and prove his position with her.
Despite all this, both of them are willing to save one another even if it’s only because it is expected of them. Sonic feels almost ashamed of how easily Geoffrey can upset him and takes an almost savage pleasure whenever Geoffrey is either shot down by his peers or whenever his carefully laid out plans and confidence in his own abilities is decimated.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
N/A - He has no encounter with Geoffrey during this period.

Sonic and Sonya

Sonic disliked her for being an agent of Robotnik in the beginning. Her cruel nature and reckless endangerment of people made her someone he enjoyed putting down. Their conflicts would always end in the same way; she would try to capture him through some complex scheme, fail miserably at it and he would escape; leaving her ego – and the rest of her if she tried to take him personally – bruised and shattered.
In some ways he found himself slightly attracted to her, despite her facial deformity,³ he blamed her focus on him and dislike. Sonic never had a female rival after all, and attention is attention to a teenager with surging hormones.

After the discovery that she was his sister, his attitude became downright hostile to her. She was a walking, talking, breathing reminder of his heritage. To make the situation worst, Tails began to spend more and more time with her.

Sonic knew she was a bad person; and Sonya knew that he knew. She took a sick kind of enjoyment in knowing that Tails was growing closer to her than to Sonic. She would purposefully get into arguments with Sonic in such a way that made him lose his temper and come out the worse for it to his friends. After he discovered that his friends were “more willing" to believe that she was turning over a new leaf over his seemingly groundless accusations, he simply began avoiding her as much as possible.

Whenever he could, however, he watched her from afar to make sure she wasn’t trying to betray them – or more importantly, that she wasn’t bringing Tails to any harm.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
N/A – No change in personality beyond becoming more vocal over his dislike of her.

Sonic and Metal

Sonic saw the robot Metal as possibly the greatest challenge Dr. Robotnik could ever create for him. Though emotionless and single minded, Metal was one of the fastest things Sonic ever saw. The idea of facing something like this – and DEFEATING it – was a thrill Sonic was quick to take advantage of.

After Metal betrayed Robotnik and became his own free willed living being, the thrill was gone. Metal avoided him for fear of conflict, and tried to fashion himself his own identity and personality, refusing utterly to be associated with Sonic in any shape or form. When he became the passive quiet Metal he was when he met Amy; Sonic became bored with him and stopped trying to seek contact.
He found Metal’s polite demeanor and attitude dull and only became interested when the people of the village tried to rile Metal into a fight. He’d see a bit of the cold murderous intent gleam in Metal’s eyes and hoped he’d have to intervene. Sadly Metal did not allow himself to go that far and would back down, despite being mocked and laughed at.
Metal was respectable and civil to Sonic, maybe a bit TOO polite to Sally who appeared to really enjoy his charming personality. Sonic tried to push Metal into a few “friendly" races and tussles but Metal always refused, assuring Sonic that without a doubt the original model was the superior in these events; something Sonic appreciated but never quite believed in his own paranoid mind.

[Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE]²
Sonic began to feel as if Metal had stolen something valuable from him. He missed Amy’s attention and started to flex his muscles at Metal who still refused a challenge.
He would go so far as to strike Metal first and mock him about his relationship with Amy until Metal lost control and fought back.
Sonic liked the wild look in Metals eyes, almost as much as the pained expressions he’d have after the fight was over.

Offspring – Come Out Swinging
Jeff Lynne – Let It Run

* The profile for this character does not follow any specific “official” timeline. Instead it follows the version created by Lizsama and takes from several pieces of SatAM, SegaSonic, and Archie with several original concepts.
¹ [Alternative Ending/Universe] Does not reflect actual ending to storyline.
² [Post Black Emerald / Pre-ASADAE] – The undetermined amount of time after Sonic got the Black Emerald but before he usurped Snively, betrayed everyone and destroyed Knothole.
³In the ASADAE universe hedgehogs will always have the “one eyeball" eyes, no matter what the other parents species. The exception to this is human DNA which was not suppose to be able to intermingle with Mobian DNA to produce offspring. Sonya’s double eye deformity is caused by her inheriting even more of her father’s traits.
¹¹ Sonic’s fear of water is established after the events from Blast to the Past where an alternation of timeline by Sally causes history to re-write, and in this timeline Sonic nearly drowns as a child.
